Acne Cure: A New Approach to an Old Problem

by Judy Aulin

Common cures for acne include over-the-counter creams, home remedies, and prescription medication. But, these aren't your only options when trying to do something that'll help keep your acne problems under control. By complementing your skin care routine with the following habits, some people can even deal with your acne problem without resorting to stronger forms of treatment.

Firstly, finding the right acne remedy will depend on the severity of your acne and your type of skin. Make sure to test out the following suggestions before adopting them into your regular skin care routine. If you suffer from severe acne, like cystic acne, make sure you consult with a specialist before beginning any new treatment.

ACNE TREATMENT: Skin Care

*Don't be an extremist!

Cleansing is important, but too much cleansing can actually promote acne problems. When you over-cleanse you end up removing too much oil from your skin, which will cause the skin to produce more and eventually lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

To keep this problem under control, make sure that you cleanse no more than twice a day. If you wish to wash your face during the day, do so with warm water and reapply moisturizer if needed.

*Don't squeeze or pop

This can also increase the production of sebum. It can also promote infection. When you break the skin, it becomes easier for acne bacteria to enter the deeper layers of the skin.

*Use less makeup

Make-up is merely a cosmetic necessity. It can actually irritate your skin and clog your pores. If you currently suffer from acne, then you should look for water-based products and wear as little as possible.

*Use a natural acne remedy to treat your skin

Honey is a natural product that capable of disinfecting and healing minor blemishes. This type of treatment is an ideal biological acne cure for sensitive skin.

ACNE TREATMENT: Make Dietary Changes

*Eat foods rich in Vitamin A and Zinc

Changing your diet can also be a good acne cure.Vitamin A helps strengthen the protective tissue of the skin and reduce sebum production. You can find high quantities of this vitamin in carrots, spinach, and even calf liver.

Zinc is an antibacterial agent that is known to help fight off infection. You can get zinc from meat products like beef, turkey, chicken and even crabmeat, however, if you're a vegetarian then you can find zinc in other foods such as wholegrain foods, brown rice, potatoes and peanuts.

ACNE TREATMENT: Other Changes

*Maintain your hair off of your face

Oil from your hair may transfer onto your face and lead to acne breakouts. Make sure to wash your hair frequently if it is oily. You might also want to tie it back during the day or at night before going to bed.

*Clean Bed Sheets mean Clean Skin

Your pillowcase will absorb the oil from your face and transfer it back to your skin. If you want to keep this from happening you should keep your bedding as clean as possible by changing sheets every other day.

Do what you must to prevent acne or it's likely your skin will pay the consequences. Ignoring your condition will only make acne worse and can even lead to acne scar formation. If you want to treat acne gently then products such as BIOACNECARE are a good solution, especially if you suffer from severe acne.
